Central Market at Kuala Lumpur

We visited the Central Market at Kuala Lumpur on May 19, 2025. Here you will find different items that you can buy as souvenir and gifts to your friends. A dining area is within the vicinity. It has an indoor and outdoor shopping area. It was drizzling at the time of our visit but the outdoor area has roof. There are toilets inside but prepare MYR 1 for the maintenance fee.

Upper View Regalia Hotel at Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

We stayed at Upper View Regalia Hotel at Kuala Lumpur from May 19 - 21, 2025. There were two of us in the room, me and my brother. It's almost an hour away from Kuala Lumpur International Airport. We arrived there hiring airport taxi but as mentioned in my previous post, it's better to book a grab taxi. At the ground floor, you can find a convenience store named BilaBila, laundry area and a small restaurant called the Food Deck. This restaurant is where they also serve buffet breakfast. For the breakfast, they have mildly spicy fried rice, coconut rice, roti with dip, scrambled eggs, baked beans and chicken nuggets. They also have a bread station, coffee and tea station, water and juice station and fruits and salad. Kids also have a choice of chocolate cereals, corn flakes and milk. While some may find the choices modest as compared to other hotels, this is enough for me. The staff are friendly. The housekeeping cleans the room even if not requested. 2 bottles of water are provided daily. The room we stayed in needs a lot of improvement. The carpet is old and stained. The water kettle they provided is broken so we did not use it. The bathroom and toilet is spacious. However, they bidet is broken and the window curtain rod is just a rope and not fastened enough. It's like they just put it there for the sake of having something where the curtain can hang. Two swimming pools are in the hotel, one located in the 5th floor and one located at the 28th floor. There is a good view of Merdeka 118 and Petronas Twin Towers at the ground entrance and taxi bay. The good thing about this hotel is that it's near Kuala Lumpur's landmarks. As for the things I wrote here, they need to do a lot to improve facility.

Kuala Lumpur May 19 - 21, 2025

It was the morning of May 18, 2025 when my brother told me he wants to go to Malaysia. He has not been there before. Before afternoon, we already booked a hotel and flight to Kuala Lumpur. The website we used is Booking.com https://www.booking.com/

The hotel we checked in is Upper View Regalia Kuala Lumpur.

We boarded a flight with Philippines Airlines (coded with Malaysia Airlines) the very next day. We arrived Kuala Lumpur around 10:30 AM. Kuala Lumpur and Manila shares the same time. We went through the usual process of arriving visitors. We logged in a computer at the airport to do our arrival information. This is called the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card. It will be sent through email and you have to show this to the immigration officer. Be sure that you have good internet connection (there's free at the airport) and most of all, your phone has enough power. You may also do this in advance before arriving to Malaysia. For more information, you may visit their website at https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main.

We grabbed a bite from 4Fingers Chicken at the airport. They are originally from Singapore. Here is a link to their website: https://www.4fingers.com.sg/about-us.

We hailed an airport taxi and it cost us MYR 245.00 to get to the hotel. I highly suggest travelers to book via Grab app instead.https://www.grab.com/ph/transport/

The driver of the taxi we rode, was reckless. He drove dangerously that he tried to change lanes last minute angering other motorists. Better to book a ride via Grab or similar apps because passengers can rate drivers and leave a review on them.

I will be publishing more blogs about our trip to Kuala Lumpur May 2025. See you guys!

Australia 2012: Mattina Orchards

Mattina Fresh Orchards at Cobram, Victoria, Australia

Note: I would just like to share with you guys my experience around one of the vast countryside areas of the state of Victoria. Their everyday life, the businesses in the area. I am not, in any way, connected with the business establishments nor promoting them.

Last year, 22 February 2012, my aunt, uncle and I went for a visit at the orchard of my one of my uncle's close friends. Knowing that I like farms, countryside and fresh air, they took me there for a visit.

Mattina Fresh Orchards, occupies hundreds of hectares of land. From what I remember, it is more than 500 hectares combined.

The orchard is planted to apples, plum and others (could no lot remember all). They supply them at various supermarkets. I was able to visit their packing line. I met a lot of Filipinos there.

The orchard is owned by an Italian family. Very hardworking. They are a great team. Together, they were able to expand their business.

My uncle's friend, the owner, gave him more than a dozen boxes of white plum. My uncle likes making his own wine. They are both Italians. Wines are like lambanogs to Pinoys. Pinoys from the countryside are experts when it comes to lambanog, and so are making wines to Italians.

My aunt and I are neighbors at the game
Farmville. We were laughing on our way to
the farm while at the car.
An adult, wild, kangaroo is playing around the vast                                                                                    line of Plum trees.

Below are more pictures taken around the farm.

Looking Back: Australia February 2012 - Changi Airport Singapore Stop-Over

It was February 2012 when I left Manila for Perth, WA, Australia for a month long vacation at my cousin's place. Oh how time flies.

I also made a short strip to Victoria state. I went to the countryside at Shepparton where my aunt lives with her husband and made a half day tour of Melbourne. Oh! 1 week was not enough at Victoria. And definitely half day is not enough for Melbourne!

Anyway, my first stop from Manila was Singapore. I boarded a Singapore Airlines flight to Perth with a stop-over to Changi Airport.

I was so excited and looked forward to my stop over. Changi is so nice! I almost missed my flight walking around the airport. Hehe! It was so obvious that I came from a third world, icky airport (sorry NAIA).

I do hope they will do an impressive job at the NAIA overhaul. I do not expect it to be as good as Changi, but a big improvement is expected.

They have pocket gardens around the airport. See pics below:

Little Souls Convent at Tagaytay

Have you guys heard of Little Souls Convent at Mahogany, Tagaytay City? It's a cute convent similar to Pink sisters. Except for, Pink Sister's grounds are bigger.

And in this convent, the nuns wear the color of Peach. I though they should be called "The Peach Sisters".

What I like about Little Souls is that it is very solemn. The convent's workers make sure that people who go there to pray are not disturbed by uncalled for noises.

The chapel's pews are also very comfortable. The garden is cute and there is just enough parking space. Though the parking lot can really get full during weekends.

I visited the convent today because it is First Friday of the month. It was just a very short visit as it was not planned.

It is quite easy to find. If you see the Petron gasoline station at the Y-intersection, go straight, right side, to Mahogany. You will pass by Mahogany market, then a few more blocks you will see a school at your right side. Right after the school is the street leading to Little Souls.

Pardon me if I don't have pictures to post, or my directions are not that clear, but you may visit their website, http://www.littlesoulssisters.com. For more information.
